NuVet
One way we can insure our dogs are getting the best possible nutrition is by supplementing with Nuvet.
Nuvet is not just a vitamin. It's an immune system builder with a precise balance of antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, omega fatty acids, herbs and it tastes great.
We start our puppies on Nuvet at four weeks old and continue throughout their lifetime.
Nuvet Supplemnts can help:
The health of our dogs is one of our top priorities.
Parent testing
When our dogs reach maturity we get their hips and elbows screened from the Orthopedic Foundation of Animals(OFA). They are screened for hip dysplasia with hip joint irregularities and early arthritis detections.
We also do DNA testing for compatibility between parents before breeding. If both parents are a carrier of these diseases it's estimated that 25% of the pups born from both carrier parents will show symptoms of these terrible diseases. This is why it's important we test.
These are some of the DNA tests we get done:
Paw Print Genetics - Centronuclear Myopathy in the Labrador Retriever
Paw Print Genetics - Degenerative Myelopathy in the Labrador Retriever
Paw Print Genetics - Exercise-Induced Collapse in the Labrador Retriever
Kuranda Beds
We’ve been using Kuranda beds for many years.
Before we discovered the Kuranda bed we went through many beds but nothing held up to this superior bed.
They hold up to chewing, digging and are easy to clean and are orthopedic.
We love them and so do our dogs.
For one Labrador size dog we use the XL Heavy duty Vinyl Bed and for two to three dogs we use the XXL Heavy duty Vinyl Bed…they all snuggle together on the one bed.

This is a very good visual of what an ideal body condition should look like. If left to themselves most Labrador Retrievers would be at 9 on the body condition scale. We want our Labs to be at the ideal condition of 4 or 5. This prevents future health problems and joint issues later on in life.
